Axidian Privilege 3.3 Now Available
Axidian has announced the release of Axidian Privilege 3.3, the latest update to its privileged access management (PAM) platform. This version introduces enhancements that broaden secure access to web-based systems, streamline session handling, and provide more granular control over permissions.
Below is an overview of the most important updates included in version 3.3.
Secure Web Access Directly from the User Console
Organizations that prefer not to use Microsoft RDS can now enable browser-based access to HTTPS resources within an isolated Linux-hosted environment.
Through the User Console, individuals can open approved web resources directly. Administrators may configure SSO templates to automatically populate login credentials on target systems. This ensures users gain seamless access while sensitive passwords remain concealed.
The result is improved usability without compromising credential protection.
Web-Based RDP and SSH Connections
Remote connectivity has been further simplified. Axidian Privilege now enables browser-initiated connections to RDP and SSH endpoints.
Users can launch:
- Remote desktop sessions
- Command-line SSH connections
All directly from the User Console, without installing additional client software. This capability is particularly valuable in distributed or contractor-based work environments where quick, secure access is essential.
Proxy-Based Access for Microsoft SQL Server
Database session handling has been expanded to support Microsoft SQL Server via a proxy-based model. This aligns MS SQL access with the existing PostgreSQL proxy architecture.
With this update, teams can manage multiple database platforms using a consistent access workflow and centralized session control.
Note: The SQL Proxy module is currently offered in early access through December 31, 2026. After that date, appropriate licensing will be required.
Unified Administrator Dashboard
Monitoring activity across the PAM environment is now more efficient. A consolidated dashboard in the Management Console provides visibility into:
- Active and historical sessions
- Account permissions
- Credential usage
- Authentication failures
- License allocation
- Overall user activity
Each dashboard widget links directly to its corresponding section for deeper review, allowing administrators to quickly move from summary data to detailed analysis.
Launch Sessions Without Re-Authentication
Users can now initiate certain sessions without re-entering credentials. By using a generated RDP file or a copied connection command, a one-time connection can be established without additional authentication prompts.
This reduces friction during session startup while limiting repeated exposure of sensitive credentials.
Day-Based Permission Scheduling
Access rules can now be configured by day of the week. Administrators may define when permissions are active, such as restricting access during weekends or outside business hours.
These scheduling options apply across PAM operations and can be combined with other access policies for more precise control.
Ed25519 SSH Key Support
Version 3.3 introduces support for the Ed25519 cryptographic algorithm for SSH keys associated with privileged accounts.
Administrators can:
- Generate new Ed25519 keys
- Import existing keys in OpenSSH format
- Choose between RSA and Ed25519 during account creation or key rotation
Compared to traditional RSA keys, Ed25519 offers improved cryptographic performance and enhanced security characteristics.
Automatic Logout for Inactive Sessions
To strengthen console security, administrators can configure inactivity timeouts. When a user remains idle beyond the defined threshold, the system automatically logs them out of the Management or User Console.
This helps reduce the risk of unauthorized access on unattended workstations.
Full Account Lockout Capability
Both standard users and administrators can now be fully blocked within the system. When an account is locked, all access is disabled—including authentication to both the Management Console and User Console.
