Lansweeper November 2026 Billing Changes Explained

From November 5, 2026, two changes affect how assets count toward your Lansweeper plan:

1. Monitors become billable

2. Every asset gets a licensed, unlicensed, or non-billable status

Monitors Become Billable

From November 5, 2026, monitors will follow the same billing rule as every other asset type. Like any other billable asset, a monitor counts toward your plan once it’s in your inventory and within your licensed limit.

Control which monitors appear in your inventory

If you don’t want to track monitors, you can keep them out of your inventory in two ways:

• Discovery exclusions: Create an asset type exclusion for monitors. Asset type exclusions apply to your whole inventory, so this keeps out monitors from every discovery method.

• IT Agent setting: IT Agents will also have a setting to exclude monitors from scanning.

Assets Get a Licensed, Unlicensed, or Non-Billable Status

From November 5, 2026, every asset in your inventory shows one of three statuses:

• Licensed: Counts toward your plan and shows full scan detail.

• Unlicensed: Beyond your licensed limit. Still visible, with basic detail only.

• Non-billable: Appears in your inventory but never counts toward your plan.

These statuses already apply to the Free plan.

What to Do Before November 5

• Decide whether to track monitors. If you don’t want them, set up a monitor exclusion. Exclusions take effect on the next scan cycle.

• Compare your inventory with your licensed limit. Billable assets beyond your limit become unlicensed and show only basic detail.
