FastReport VCL 2026.2 Update: New UI Components & Features

Version 2026.2 of the FastReport VCL introduces 10 new UI components for Delphi and Lazarus, an updated FastGrid with nested groupings, a report validation system, and a property for managing band column layout.

New UI Components (Editors) for Delphi and Lazarus

The component base has been expanded with 10 new UI editors that offer additional display and control settings:

New Features of FastReport VCL

Report Validation System

Validate reports for errors before saving
Can be run from designer or code
Configurable validation rules: object intersections, conflicting properties, data sets, expressions, empty objects, scripts
Prevent saving reports that fail validation

New Property: Band Columns Layout

Control column display order: AcrossThenDown or DownThenAcross
MaxRows property for maximum rows in a column (DownThenAcross mode)

New Alignment Mode

baHVCenter – center alignment using both width and height of container

UseSizeConstraints for Tables

Set maximum and minimum width/height for table columns and rows
Useful for creating fixed rows and columns when stretching tables

New Image Effects

Transparency (translucency mask)
Image rotation
Mirroring

Export Improvement: Retaining Original Image Links

New ExportDataLinksMode property with three modes:
- edmNone (default) – exports only loaded data
- edmLoadToObject – loads from link then exports
- edmInternalExport – HTML exports use original link

FastReport FMX, FastCube, and FastQueryBuilder Improvements
