Chart FX Extensions Pack
With the Chart FX Extensions Pack developers are no longer required to spend hours configuring a generic charting component to specific data or behavior. Instead, Chart FX Extensions (.NET controls) can be added to either Chart FX for .NET 6.2 or Chart FX 7 to adapt to these data sources enabling organizations to quickly and economically develop solutions that meet unique business needs.
The Chart FX Extensions Pack provides four main components as well as supplementary functionality including a Polar gallery type, Accessibility (Section 508), a Flash writer and PSS to maximize server performance in a web server environment.
Chart FX Financial, a .NET control, is a development product specifically targeted for companies like software firms, banks, brokerage firms, investment firms and other companies developing financial applications so they can perform technical analysis using a variety of predefined financial indicators and special chart types.
Financial Data Wizard
Connecting your data to the Chart FX Financial Extension is very intuitive with the Data Wizard. Simply choose the database and then choose the specific table of interest. Once the data has been selected, Chart FX Financial guides you through configuring the chart to display the financial data.
Interactive Drawing Features
This collection of studies differ from price indicators as they are usually only performed on a section of the data displayed in the Price pane and usually have a starting and ending point. Chart FX Financial includes 12 custom interactive drawing features that allow the user to select different areas in the chart to perform and display additional technical analysis information (e.g. Fibonacci Fans, Arcs, etc). Interactive drawing features allow users or analysts to select two or more sessions and Chart FX Financial will automatically calculate the selected study and display it. Supported drawing features include:
-
Gann Fan
-
Fibonacci Fan
-
Fibonacci Time
-
Midpoint Tirone

Analytical
Analytical charts contain more data than just closing prices (like open, hi, lo and volume). These indicators usually enhance the analytical capabilities of typical candlestick or hi-lo-close charts.
Kagi
The goal of the Kagi chart is to catch longer term trends. With a Kagi chart, is easier to obtain an insight into who has the balance of power; the bulls or the bears.
Point & Figure
Point and figure (P&F) charting concentrates on price and its changes by eliminating other non-essential elements such as time and volume.
Renko
Japanese charts like Renko are particularly useful for analyzing mutual funds. With these charts it is easy to recognize and interpret bullish and bearish trends.
Three-Line Break
As opposed to Analytical charts, Three Line Break charts ignore the passage of time. They specialize in trend analysis, which is similar to P&F charting.
Chart FX OLAP, a .NET control, supports ADO-MD and XML for Analysis for integration with major leading OLAP server vendors like Microsoft SQL Server® and Hyperion Essbase®. Chart FX OLAP allow your Windows Forms and Web Forms applications to quickly and easily integrate OLAP-aware charts. Slice & dice your data with a powerful User Interface
Analysis Bars
Chart FX OLAP includes an Analysis Bar that allows users to select dimensions to analyze within the chart. The Analysis Bar may be toggled between either the Category Bar [1] or Menu Bar [2] styles. The Category Bar allows users to select from the available dimensions and levels for display in the chart. Alternatively, the Menu Bar provides the same functionality but takes less space.
Pivoting Data
The Chart FX OLAP Extension also allows end users to pivot data in the chart to change the dimensional orientation. Dragging the LegendBox or X-axis labels to another position will allow users to transpose (swap the rows and columns) data in the chart. (See it in action)
Drill-down Capabilities
The OLAP Extension supports analysis and drill down functionality allowing end users to analyze a level individually, or drill down to a selected level to analyze the subordinate values which comprise the selected level.

Features
Smart Tag Capabilities
Chart FX 7 makes full use of Visual Studio Smart Tags, and also takes advantage of this infrastructure to build a fully functional Wizard that allows developers to quickly access Chart FX 7’s main features. When you drop a control in a Visual Studio form a Smart Tag appears in the upper-right hand corner of the control. The Smart Tag is a drop down menu that contains a list of actions that allow developers to quickly access common used options and functionality.
Simple Integration
Once an Extension has been installed, you can simply add the Extension to an existing chart by using the SmartTag on the respective chart and selecting ‘Add Extension’. Once you have linked the Extension to the chart, the SmartTag reflects the new options available for the chosen Extension.
Zero-Footprint Rendering Engine
The Extensions Pack .NET control supports zero-footprint, fully interactive charts in the browser through the use of DHTML and AJAX technology. This provides a means of supplying end users with a fully-secure, seamless client experience without any downloads or installations.
Data Wizard
The Chart FX 7 Smart Tag Wizard provides the basic data-source configuration option available to other controls in Visual Studio, so you can quickly create and/or connect to an existing database or dataset in your project. Although Visual Studio makes it simple to connect to data sources, there is still a lot of processing that needs to be done in order to make a dataset functional to a chart component but with the Chart FX 7 Data Wizard connecting to data sources is a breeze.
