The product includes everything you need to integrate reporting tools into your application, built based on ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, .NET Core, and Angular platforms. The report writer is a powerful and fast report engine using a universal .NET platform, convenient and straightforward, but at the same time multifunctional HTML5 report designer, interactive and fast HTML5 report viewer.
Universal tool
When we developed Stimulsoft Reports.Web, we tried to make a universal and easy-to-use tool for working with reports on various platforms and operating systems. Our components are based on client-server technology. A considerable advantage of this approach is that low requirements are imposed on the working computer of the end-user. On the client-side, only HTML5 and JavaScript are used, so reports work equally well and quickly on any system and device. All you need is a modern Web browser.
On the server-side, the vast functionality and versatility of the .NET platform are available. Our components fully support the .NET Framework 4.5 and higher, as well as the universal platform .NET Core 2.0 and higher, which significantly expands the range of available server systems. Our product implements the same capabilities of components and applies general reporting methods regardless of the platform used.
Report Designer
A report designer is a tool that directly affects the speed of creating reports. That is why we paid particular attention to it. Our report designer has a convenient, modern, and familiar Ribbon UI, many design themes. It supports 40+ UI localizations. The report designer has various wizards for the quick start in creating reports and setting report components. All this and much more will allow you to quickly integrate the component into your project and immediately start creating reports.
In Stimulsoft Reports.Web, the report designer has two versions – as a component for integration into projects using ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, and .NET Core platforms, and a ready-made application for creating and editing reports on the computers of developers, which is available for Windows and macOS systems.
Data for Reports
Our product supports lots of ways to connect data to a report using both the report designer functionality and code. We offer a vast list of supported data servers – MS SQL, Oracle, Firebird, MySQL, PostgreSQL, and others. We support all standard types of ADO.NET, OData protocol, multi-level business objects. You can get data from XML, JSON, Excel, and other files.
Preliminary preparation and transformation of data, creation of virtual data sources, and the ability to embed your data directly into the report template as resources are available. This is just a shortlist of what our report writer can do with data.
View Reports
As a rule, we view report much more often than the work of creating and editing reports. Stimulsoft Reports.Web has an excellent component for working with finished reports. Our report viewer supports all report formats and printing them, various display modes, 25+ formats for saving the rendered report. It provides work with parameters, multi-level drill-down capability, interactive reports, viewing and saving resources, and much more are supported. For the full integration of the component into the project, we offer many design themes and options for customizing the appearance and behavior. All features of the component are available on all supported platforms and server systems.
Integration
Stimulsoft Reports.Web is designed to integrate the report generator into Web projects for ASP.NET, ASP.NET MVC, and .NET Core platforms. In addition, the product includes a cross-platform set of tools for working with the Angular framework. Events are available to control all stages of working with a report – from downloading and connecting data to viewing and printing it. In addition to the comprehensive functionality of visual components, any actions on the report can be performed using server-side code.

We tried to make product integration in the project as simple as possible. Install the necessary package from the NuGet repository, or download the package from our website to your computer and add the required libraries to the project. No additional modules and particular extensions are needed. All you need, the product already has. The Stimulsoft Reports.Web product supports .NET Framework 4.5 or higher, or .NET Core 2.0 or higher.
Compatibility
Stimulsoft Reports.Web is the integral part of the Stimulsoft platform. Reports created in our other products will work in Stimulsoft Reports.Web and vice versa. You can create reports on a computer and continue editing them in the cloud with the help of the online designer. We have tried to ensure the compatibility of the reports, to the extent possible for a particular technology. Moreover, we offer tools for importing reports from files of other popular reporting systems into our universal internal format.
